New masks by Peerless Designs

As you know I design for Peerless Designs, well Sarah has designed some beautiful mask medleys and will be demonstrated on create and craft on 27th March at 8am & 1pm.
I have thoroughly enjoy playing with these masks, and have used different mediums on them as you'll see from the images!
The first one reminds me of Art Deco era. I used craft foil which I embossed, I lightly distressed the embossed image then used black ink to give it a more vintage look. I distressed a small doily using black ink and centred a fan I made in the centre, this was positioned in the centre of my main embossed image, I hope you like it!

So sorry...

I am so very sorry I haven't updated my blog in a long while but I nursed my husband who had cancer and, sadly my wonderful husband lost his fight.
I've just started to get back into my crafting zone and I'm about to post some new cards and projects x

Hunkydory Christmas

I know it's early to be thinking about the 'C' word but, last year I had so many orders for Christmas cards I seemed to be in my craftroom 24/7 and had very little time to make my own personal cards so, this year I'm starting to make them early!
These 2 cards are from the Hunkydory Christmas compendium, there is something for everyone from Cute, vintage, elegant to classic Christmas!

Word Play CD ROM from Peerless Designs!

As promised, cards made from the new Peerless Designs CD ROM! It is so very different but so gorgeous but you will have to wait until 20th July for the release of it which will be aired on create & craft at 10am!

Anniversary Book card!

I was asked by my friend Wendy to make a special card for her hubby for their 30 wedding anniversary, so with thinking cap on and some sneaky work from Wendy she brought her wedding album to me and I scanned a photo of them cutting their cake! I took it through psp and removed all the background from the photo and was left with their hands showing their wedding rings, this I then used as the main image for the book style card I made and here is the end result! Wendy was so emotional when she saw it as it is very personal to both of them!

Hand made Roses

Step 1

Step 2

Step3

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6
Thought I would share with you how I make my hand made roses! I used 4 squares of 7cm x7cm of paper (step 1), fold diagnally 3 times, cut the open end into a cone shape and snip a tad off the bottom too (step 2). Open out and cut 1 petal off (step 3) Curl petals and glue the open end by overlapping petal (step 4), The centre is made by using 3 petals curled and rolled (step 5), Continue with this method with the other 3 squares removing an extra petal each time, don't disgard petal cut off as this is what the centre is made from. Once you have made 4 pieces use glue around the base of each layer and position inside each other, you should now have your rose complete (step6), Enjoy....

Hunkydory

This is from the Hunkydory 'All Occasion's' women collection! I distressed the background paper using Tim Holtz distressing ink pad and also the border of main image, then matted on gold mirri board and placed off centre. I added gold stripe organza ribbon along the the left edge and two hand made paper roses. I heat embossed skeleton leaves using cosmic shimmer embossing powder and finished off with large bow made using my Bowdabra tool!

Stamping on satin board

I have been having a play with some satin board! I used archival ink to stamp my image, then clear embossing powder. Heating from underneath and the image was perfect! Tried lots of different colour satin board and inks but always used clear embossing powder over the stamped image....love it!

Sorry!

So sorry I haven't updated blog for a while I have had lots going on so, hey ho here we go! xx

Rapunzel

I love this card and think it is perfect for a little girl! It was a request from my brother for his little granddaughter who adores 'Rapunzel'. I cut the flower aperture and placed Rapunzel in the centre matted on purple mirri card. I decorated the petals with flower and butterfly gems. My brother was well pleased with the end result and so was I!

House mouse 'sunflower'.

This was made using Joanna Sheen's 'House mouse' collection. I used the idea of the sunflower itself as the main idea for the card. The backing paper I made myself using paint shop pro. I cut into sections and matted on gold mirri card.

Another Hunkdory!

Another from the Hunkydory vintage pearl collection! I used an aperture card front matted on gold mirri and then matted on card stock. Gathered lace was used down the left side and a satin bow to finish the look!

Hunkydory collection

This is from the Hunkydory 'vintage pearl' collection. Main image was matted on embossed oval which I distressed using Tim Holtz distressing inks. This collection proved popular for mothers day requests.
